Coleman
Case Study: Coleman
Situation: A busy family of four, these homeowners faced an outdated kitchen and family room with no convenient access to the backyard.
Challenge: Our challenge was to update the kitchen, increase natural light in the family room while creating a harmonious flow between the kitchen, family room, and backyard.
Solution:
- First, the soffit dividing the kitchen and family room was removed allowing visual unity. The kitchen cabinets, countertops, and appliances were removed and replaced with updated versions.
- The door leading from the kitchen to the backyard was removed, allowing additional cabinetry in the kitchen, and moved to the family room in the form of 4 French doors. The French doors provided added light in the family room, connection with the backyard, and easy access to the exterior.
- The fireplace was relocated to an adjacent wall providing design interest, storage of music and TV, and unification of the kitchen and family room.
